Your role

ABB's Distribution Solutions Division provides utility, industrial and commercial customers with safe, smart and sustainable technologies for the distribution of electricity. With ABB AbilityTM-enabled digital solutions at its core, its extensive portfolio includes distribution automation products, switching, limiting, measuring and sensing devices, switchgear, modular substation packages, and related services.

The role reports to the Production Development Manager and is located in Mebane, North Carolina.

Responsibilities:

  • Optimize the Production organization’s assembly methods, processes, and equipment to minimize labour hours by business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs, and safety.
  • Identifies and recommends improvement opportunities and implements improvement projects, ensuring adherence to timeframe, quality, and cost requirements.
  • Prepares technical documentation regarding the process phases and the related methods and cycle times
  • Mentoring and networking opportunities.
  • Personal and professional development programming will be offered to all interns. This programming will include global and local sessions.

Training & development

At ABB interns will gain experience in optimizing assembly methods, processes, and equipment to enhance quality, efficiency, and safety while minimizing labour hours. You will also develop skills in project management, technical documentation preparation, and professional networking.
