Culture at DHL

7.0
7.0 rating for Culture, based on 5 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
Within the graduate program, there is a lot of support. Executive leadership show an interest in graduates as the future of the business. The people are nice and supportive in the teams I have worked with. There are some out-of-office social events but they are not super common. Monthly site lunches occur at each site to connect with the whole team.

In office: - Structure varies between clients and operations - Cooperation and teamwork is critical to success of operations, most people internally are more than happy to help and support. Out of Office: Socialization between colleagues varies between sector, in the transport sector social activities happen much less than others.

The overall culture is beautiful. However I find in my current area of work, I am disrespected daily but store persons and told by supervisors or managers that I am to people manage and this is warehousing instead of getting to the root cause and mending. I do not blame greater DHL SC. I feel from meeting CEO Steve Thompsett this would not be ok. I understand the difficulty on ensuring the culture desired is raining onto the entire business at each level. I have met wonderful people in the company, however I have also experienced and heard firsthand of some questionable comments in management when faced with disrespectful situations by women in the workplace or store persons wanting to progress. Which is of high importance to DHL.
