Your role

Dyson's Energy Storage Team is responsible for new battery technology that will deliver significantly better performance than conventional battery cells. You’ll be assigned to a live project team and be involved in required tasks as the following, but not limited to:

• Cell or module verification and validation to give test feedback to teams and ensure our final design meets specifications.
• Test methods development, improvement, and optimization for cell energy, power, reliability, and safety evaluation in a precise and efficient manner.
• Testing capability development which includes equipment specification refining, technical discussion with suppliers, equipment installation, commissioning, modification, and improvement.
• Testing fixtures and setup development and optimization with flexibility and efficiency for various dimensional cells and modules
• Robust data pipelines establishment to aggregate test input parameters, execute and manage ongoing testing, and provide preliminary data analysis to highlight data quality.
• Documents creation and update for cell test methods, standard operating procedures, and risk assessment.

Training and development

You will gain valuable insights into professional applications through mentorships with industry-leading experts and exposure to cutting-edge practices. You’ll also be interacting with teams across Research, Design & Development (RDD) including product developers and mechanical and software engineers ensuring solutions are functional, secure, and easy to use. About you

Dyson's internship roles are competitive and delivering the next generation of technology is tough, so you will need to possess the following qualifications:

• Degree in Engineering, Science, or related disciplines.
• Experience with new equipment set up including specification definition, technical discussion with suppliers, installation, factory or site acceptance test, modification, and improvement.
• An ability to execute hands-on work in a safe and compliant manner.
• Skills in analytical programming tools such as Python, Matlab, R, Excel VBA, and SQL.
• Skills in statistical process control tools such as Minitab and JMP.
• Documentation skills to summarize test methods, technical reports, standard operating procedures, risk assessment, and RFI or RFQ.
• An ability to work on several tasks concurrently without losing focus.
• Good organizational skills with a methodical and detailed approach.
