Training & Personal Development at Jacobs Australia

7.3
7.3 rating for Training, based on 15 reviews
Please describe the training programmes at your company and tell us what skills you've picked up.
More technical training opportunities would be ideal. More sharing of internal resources and internal training for technical disciplines would be beneficial

Whilst when I reach out, majority of the team will help me train and develop - due to how busy everyone is I don't always feel comfortable reaching out, a set fortnightly or monthly check in with my mentor would be useful

The structured graduate deevelopment program is amazing and so much is learnt. It ensures that you gain exposure to other sides of the business such as operations, sales, development that you may not have exposure to in your technical role. I now have a lot of knowledge about the financial, project management and bid process side and is now an area I would one day like to move into.

Jacobs has a very well developed training programme.
Graduate, Brisbane
The company has a culture where senior people are generally happy to share knowledge to more junior staff and this helps a lot with on the job training. The company also offers formal training for technical skills, eg 12D.
Graduate, Adelaide
Onboarding, technical, safety, and management training is great! Lots of opportunities for continued learning. On the job training is also very helpful - people take time to teach and answer questions.
Graduate, Melbourne
The graduate development program is terrible. No one in my area knew the process or what I was supposed to do. It was all fumbling by myself. Even egtting it signed off/the next steps people were asking me, the graduate, what to do. I didn't know!
