The Paramount Global Story 

Paramount Global, formerly called ViacomCBS, traces its formation as far back as 1952 with the formation of CBS Films. CBS Films was created to manage a plethora of CBS television series. 

CBS Films was renamed CBS Enterprises in 1968 while CBS Enterprises changed its name to Viacom in 1970. Viacom separated from CBS in 1971 and both companies grew at a positive pace. In 1986, Viacom was bought by National Amusements. 

Viacom also recorded further growth in 1994 acquiring Paramount Communications. Viacom also acquired CBS Corporation in 1999. 

Viacom and CBS were once again separated into; CBS Corporation and Viacom Company. Both companies recombined in 2019 and changed their name to Paramount Global in 2022. 

The company currently boasts billions of viewers and a strong presence in more than 180 countries worldwide.

Recruitment Process 

Paramount Global embraces a rather thorough but straightforward recruitment process for talented graduates and interns. 

The entire recruitment process begins with applying with a tailored resume and completing a phone interview.  

Graduates and internship hopefuls that conclude this first phase are required to complete a range of assessments called “pre-employment testing”. These tests are; verbal, numerical, abstract reasoning, and personality tests. 

Applicants who complete these series of tests successfully are screened for substances in their bodies and undergo a background check. Some positions also require candidates to undergo physical assessments. 

Finally, graduates and internship applicants are invited for an on-site interview where they get to express themselves freely. 

Graduate and internship candidates who satisfy the cultural and skill-oriented tests Paramount Global presents are offered roles in the growing Paramount Global family. 

Career Prospects 

In tandem with Paramount Global’s desire to help employees remain their authentic selves, they offer unconventional career development paths as well.

After a special on-air discussion, Nick Cannon received backlash for making bigotry and hateful claims. Despite Cannon’s long-standing relationship with the media outlet, he was fired from the company.
