Your Role

Job activities include but are not limited to:

  • Meet multiple times a week with Conservation Coordinator to build the bill tracker for 2023.
  • Attend weekly check-in meetings with all Delta Chapter Staff, coordinate and assist one another in tasks relevant to respective roles.
  • Attend hearings at the capitol, particularly for House and Senate natural resources, environmental quality committees, and transportation committees in the House and Senate.
  • Facilitate the meetings and evaluate the strategy and progress of the transit committee.
  • Lead, send calendar invites and zoom call details for, and plan the agenda for the transit committee meetings.
  • Work with the Delta Chapter political committee, allies, and partners as appropriate on both legislative priorities and election priorities.
  • Regularly attend calls held by National Campaign for Transit Justice, Louisiana 4 Corners Coalition, OneRouge Mobility & Transportation Committee, and Clean Transportation for All.

Salary & Benefits

The total compensation package for this position may include other elements depending on the position offered. The base salary for this role is $22.22 per hour. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

About You

The successful candidate must demonstrate the following skills, experience, and competencies:

  • Strong communication skills, keen on time management, and adaptable.
  • Comfortable with working collaboratively with staff and peers and connecting with legislators, their staff, and other officials.
  • Awareness of the legislative process and willingness to do deeper dives to understand different legislative committee processes and protocols.
  • You have an analysis of how racism and other forms of oppression in society impact relationships, systems, and culture.
