Job summary

Amazon is seeking Operations Manager Intern which is one of the most recognizable brand names in the world and we distribute millions of products each year to our loyal customers.

We are seeking an Operation manager intern.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving up the sortation & line haul infrastructure in the region which includes identifying the new routes.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Reviewing and understanding the transportation process from Fulfilment Centres to delivery stations
  • Measure and Ensure enough bandwidth in sortation team to ensure peak time delivery management
  • Assist and work alongside Area Managers to review performance appraisals of the station supervisors and learn on how to mentor them for handling efficient operations
  • Continuously improve the throughput and attain a sustained level of delivery performance improvement
  • Review and assist on analysis of the data reports to identify performance bottlenecks and improve the performance
  • Research and review on the formal process control and process improvement mechanisms such as Kaizen

This role is based on day shift or night shift, with shift hours from 7am - 5pm, or 7pm - 5am. You will be working shifts from Sunday to Wednesday, or Wednesday to Saturday.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently in the penultimate year of your overall degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, Logistics or related discipline.
  • Current Australian/ NZ Citizen or Australia Permanent Resident at time of application.
  • Experience in logistics field desirable and the experience in courier industry highly preferred
    • Passion in People management experience. Experience in handling the field teams is highly desirable.
    • Experience in handling live operation preferred (wherein decisions have to be taken on the spot and actions needs to be initiated right away)
  • Motivated in learning process improvement with additional benefits for knowledge of specific methodologies such as six sigma, Kaizen etc.

  • Strong leadership capabilities and people management skills
  • Strong execution skills, Action-oriented, go-getter
  • Resourceful to identify the way to get things done using limited resources
  • Ability to work under pressure situations
  • Ability to work in ambiguous situations and to come out with solutions as per the situations faced
