Connect Out is Arup's LGBTIQ+ community, who advocates for a work environment that respects, welcomes and supports LGBTIQ+ staff and empowers them to perform to their fullest potential. The network is open to all staff supportive of the principles of LGBTIQ+ inclusion and is championed by senior staff.

Arup is part of of the Interfirm Engineering professional network, which was established in 2022 to promote LGBTIQ+ inclusion across engineering spheres.

Arup recently took part in a research project, ‘Queering Cities in Australia’, which provided recommendations for making public spaces more inclusive through urban policy and practice.
